Sri Lanka’s Foreign Minister Vijitha Herath met with US Ambassador Eric Meyer for talks on expanding cooperation, with discussions ranging from digital transformation and trade to maritime security and counternarcotics.
Ambassador Meyer, in a statement on ‘X’, said the meeting focused on new U.S. support for Sri Lanka’s digital transformation, including cloud infrastructure and port modernization, which he noted would “open doors for American companies and strengthen our trade and security partnership.”
The agenda also covered American technology and trade, as well as maritime security and counternarcotics cooperation, reflecting a broad framework for advancing the interests of both countries.
