The United States has carried out a fresh wave of airstrikes against Iran, targeting dozens of sites linked to the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), the US Central Command (CENTCOM) announced.
According to CENTCOM, the strikes targeted military command centres, missile and drone facilities, coastal surveillance and defence sites, and maritime capabilities.
The US military said the operation was launched in response to what it described as an attempted surprise ballistic missile attack by Iran on US forces stationed in the Middle East a day earlier. Washington said all incoming Iranian missiles were intercepted and no US personnel were injured. (Newswire)
