Senior Professor Ven. Uthurawala Dhammarathana Thera has been appointed as the new Chairman of the Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna.
The Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna General Assembly was held on Saturday (22) at the party headquarters in Nelum Mawatha, Battaramulla under the patronage of SLPP leader, former President Mahinda Rajapaksa, where Ven.Dhammarathana Thera was elected as the new Chairman of the party.
The new office-bearers of the Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna were appointed at this meeting.Other than the new chairman the former office-bearers were re-instated as before.
Ven.Uthurawala Dhammarathana Thera replaces Prof.G.L.Peiris as the SLPP chairman.
