Veteran actor and dramatist Sathischandra Edirisinghe has passed away at the age of 84 while receiving treatment at a private hospital in Colombo, family sources said.
Born in 1941, in Kelaniya, Edirisinghe was the brother of renowned singer Sunil Edirisinghe. He made significant contributions to Sri Lankan arts through both acting and directing.
Edirisinghe was a prolific figure in Sri Lankan arts, with a career spanning more than five decades in cinema, stage drama and television. (Newswire)
