Pradeep Kumara, who was an expert in the field of electronic and print media for last 30 years, is a friendly character who has worked with everyone in the media industry with good understanding. Pradeep Anura Kumara, who was a skilled manipulator of political opinions, was known as a compiler of information for political secret columns for several weekend papers.
An alumnus of Nalanda College, Minuwangoda, he entered the media industry as a local journalist for the “Divaina” newspaper. Later, he worked for Jathika Rupavahini, Hiru FM, and Dinakara Newspapers. In addition, he has written articles for many other newspapers and magazines.
He has passed away at 53 years of age.
He was the beloved husband of a teacher, Sagarika Abeywardena, and the father of two daughters. His remains lie at his residence at No. 239/3, Araliya Uyana, Minuwangoda Road, Kotugoda.
The funeral will take place at the at the Kotugoda Cemetery today, August 17.
