Vidyartha in smashing win over Sylvestrians

Bertie Nillagoda and P.M.L. Banda trophy was won by Vidyartha College , on Saturday when they smashed their arch rivals St.Sylvester’s College at rugby by 66 (8 goals and two tries) points to 22 (1 goal and 3 tries) in a one sided game .The winners Vidyartha College led 42-12 at the end of the first half. This game was a not a tournament game, and this was played for a trophy in memory of two past principals. Vidyartha College ruggerites dished out a nice game of run and pass rugby. Everyone understands how important it is for the side, to perform well and try to reach the winning part, that was done by Vidyartha College, who took the upper hand and took the trophy to be housed at Vidyartha College.. In the junior games, Under 14 Vidyartha College won by15 points to 10. Then in the under 16 Vidyartha College won 5 points against St Sylvester’s no score.

Antonian matches St. Anthony’s College ruggerites are hard at training for their two key games, became the only Kandy school side this season to enter the second round has emerged as a force to be reckoned with in rugby from Kandy.
