Wadduwa Central Zonal cricket champions

Wadduwa Central College under 20, men’s and women’s cricket teams won the championship of the Kalutara education Zonal School sports-2022, Inter-School softball cricket tournament.The tournament was held earlier this month at Wadduwa Central College play ground. Twenty-five (25) women’s and thirty-five (35) men’s cricket teams participated in this tournament organized by the Kalutara Zonal sports unit.

In the men’s final match, Wadduwa Central College team batted first and scored 45 runs for 3 wickets in 4 overs, in reply Bombuwala Dharmaloka Maha Vidyalaya managed to collect only 29 runs at the end of 4 overs. Wadduwa Central College won the championship by 16 runs.

Meanwhile Wadduwa Central College women’s cricket team scored 59 runs for the loss of three wickets in the stipulated 5 overs. In reply Panadura Sri Sumangala Balika Vidyalaya women’s cricket team scored only 32 runs and they lost by 27 runs. All the above four teams have qualified to participate in the ongoing Western Province inter-schools cricket championship tournament which will be held in Colombo.
