An investigation by the Police Children and Women Bureau was initiated by a special order of the Inspector General of Police regarding an incident where the 12 year old daughter of the Officer-in-Charge of the Children and Women Bureau of the Kandana Police was allegedly sexually abused by her paramour. Preliminary investigations have revealed that the daughter of the officer, who is a police inspector, has been molested by her paramour for some time.
Investigations have also revealed that when the daughter told her mother about it, instead of taking legal action against the paramour, the daughter and her other child were taken to her mother’s residence in Dummalasuriya. The husband of this police officer is a prison jailer.
He is currently on remand for a drug charge. She has had an affair after being imprisoned.
The police officer resided with her paramour and two children in a house located on Ja-Ela Shramadana Mawatha. The 12 year-old daughter was allegedly sexually abused by mother’s paramour in that house. According to a phone call received on Saturday (19) by the Dummalasuriya Police that a daughter of a police officer had been sexually abused. A police team went to the house in Dummalasuriya and met the girl. When the girl was questioned there, she told everything in front of Police officers. Accordingly, the Police have taken steps to admit the daughter to Kuliyapitiya Hospital for a medical examination.
