Zahira in 23-3 win over Vidyartha

Zahira College beat Vidyartha College by 23 points ( One goal, two tries and two penalties) to 3 (One penalty) in their inter school match played at Bogamabara yesterday. At half time Zahrians led 13-3. As expected In this game Zahira College side were in good form and out played Vidyartha College with some good team work. The winners rucked drove and powered their way to a comprehensive win. The platform of the win was laid by ferocious display by the forwards and backs. This massive victory margin could be considered a good show by the Zahrians In both halves they produced good rugby and handled the ball well.

Antonians have it easy

In another home and home game St. Anthony’s College triumphed Kingswood College by 26 points, which was made out of three goals and a try against 10 points one goal and a penalty played at Pallekelle. It was a game of stromimg rugby, the winners fought bravely to pull the game in their favour. At Half time winners led. Led 7-3. This victory could be considered a good show by the Antonians; it was a good win this season. The Antonians took control of the game by handling the ball well and the players were together as a team. And they produced good rugby in the second half and handled the ball well to score points. It was a good game, if they continue to play like this they are sure to do well in the second round. Antonian players were a picture of level headedness playing according to the demands of the game. In this game their talented forwards worked out plays with regular frequency. Steered the course of the match with handling the ball well and their kicks chip ahead or long passing, loose play which was a treat to watch.
