Avishka Deshan – talented athlete and VB player

Nineteen-year-old Avishka Deshan is a talented athlete and volleyball player having represented Vijayaba Vidyalaya and Ranna Maha Vidyalaya with distinction.

Initially, he was admitted to Ranna Maha Vidyalaya in 2008 and excelled in the shot-put event while participating in the Annual Inter-House Sports Meets and Divisional Athletic Meets.

He was later admitted to Wijayaba National School and there he commenced volleyball training under the guidance of Coach and Master-in-Charge of volleyball Tharaka Rathnaweera.

In the same year he was selected to represent the Under-17 Team and played a major role in their success at the District Meet, All-Island DSI Tournament, Divisional, Zonal, District and Provincial and All-Island Under-18 Tournaments.
