CID to probe how ‘Miracle Dome’ came into being

Criminal Investigation Department (CID) officers have commenced investigations into assets of Pastor Jerome Fernando, who is away from the country subsequent to insulting the Dhamma and the philosophy of Buddhism. Illegal Assets Investigation Division officers have started a special investigation into how he received money to construct the building named the Miracle Dome, located at Katunayake.

A top-ranked police officer said that investigations are being carried out while gathering information from the Intelligence Division as well.

Had he received money from abroad, to put up this building? If not, did his followers donate money? Special attention is being focused on these questions. If followers of Pastor Jerome had in fact invested money in the building have they done so legally? The officer said that if so, inquiries will be made as to how those persons received money, as well.

The company that constructed this building as well as institutions that planned are due to be questioned in the future. This officer said that an inquiry will be made as to how Pastor Jerome obtained the land to construct this building, too.
