Cop arrested for providing motorbike to transport Kerala Ganja

Officers of the Jaffna Division Criminal Investigation Bureau have arrested a Police Constable attached to the Silawathura Police who provided a motorbike to transport 16 kilos of Kerala Ganja brought to Sri Lanka from India by sea.

The Police Constable is a resident of Karavetti in the Point Pedro Police Division.

A suspect was arrested by a team of Kodikamam Police officers on March 9, while transporting 16 kilos of ganja on a motorbike.

When trying to trace the owner of the motorbike, it was revealed that it belonged to a Police Constable attached to the Silawathura Police Station.

Meanwhile, the accused Police Constable has gone missing and a notice stating that he has left the Police Service has even been issued in this regard.
