Discussion held between Public Security Minister & UK High Commissioner
During the meeting, the Minister warmly welcomed the High Commissioner, and views were exchanged on strengthening the long-standing ties between the United Kingdom and Sri Lanka in areas of mutual interests including the enhancement of bilateral cooperation and the fortification of amicable relations between the two states.
Further, the enhancing of security cooperation, an increase in the representation and diversity within law enforcement and reforms to be included into the Prevention of Terrorism Act 1979, reformations to be included into the contemporary policing system in Sri Lanka in pursuance of increasing public security, and many other joint areas pertaining to the socio-economic and political realms were discussed during their meeting.
