Former CBSL Governor, H.B. Dissanayake, passes away

The former Governor of the Central Bank of Sri Lanka (CBSL), H.B. Dissanayake passed away at the age of 85 on March 5, 2023.

Dissanayake functioned as the 9 th Governor of the CBSL from July 1,1992 to November 15,1995. Prior to assuming duties as Governor, he served as Director General of Customs and after retiring from the CBSL, he served as Alternate Executive Director at the International Monetary Fund (IMF) from 1996 -1998. The cremation of the former governor took place yesterday at the Public Cemetery, Mirihana.
