Minduli Nimaya a promising athlete and karateka
to secure the second place in Kids’ Athletics Zonal Competition and in 2018 she got the first place at the Kids’ Athletics Zonal Competition and in the same year she won a Gold Medal at the All Island Kids Athletics Championship.
In 2019 she won a Silver Medal at the same Championship and in the same year she secured the second place in Provincial level sports meet in the 4 x 50 Metre Relay event and the members of the relay team consisted of Minduli, Nimeshi, Sandali & Akeesha.
The relay team was placed third at the 50th Sir John Tarbet Junior championship in the 4 x 100 Metre
Relay event in 2019 and again in the same year in the All Island Relay Championship the team gained the third place in the 4 x 100 metre and 4 x 50 metre Relay events. The Relay team secured the second place in the all Island Schools Games in the 4 x 50 metre relay in 2019.
Minduli was interested in Karate too and while doing Athletics she started on Karate in the year 2017 and she became first at the Sri Lanka National Karate Championship and secured third place at the same Championship in 2018. In the same year she got the second place in the Sri Lanka Schools,Junior Karate Championship and in 2019 she secured the first place in the Sri Lanka Schools Junior Karate Do championship. She secured the third place in the Sri Lanka Karate Do Federation- Ambassador of Japan Championship in the year 2020.
Minduli is a bright student nd her intention is to continue her Athletics & Karate as she is still a Junior student of the School and she is grateful to her Athletic and Karate Coaches, Chandana Abeyratne and Rohitha Seneviratne and she is really interested in becoming a successful Athlete and a Karateka in future. Although she is not into swimming she has a great ambition to be a Diver in swimming in future and to be a Doctor as she has time to continue her education as well.
