The Thailand race weekend from September 1st to 3rd has drawn to a close, and it stands as an extraordinary chapter in the remarkable journey of the ACRR racing team.
While we did encounter a few unfortunate crashes leading to DNFs (Did Not Finish) for one of our top riders, but the weekend remained injury-free. Despite the challenges faced, the weekend showcased the exceptional progress made by Sri Lankan riders, Nipun Dilanka and Sabeer Mimshad. Their dedication and hard work bore fruit, evident in improved lap times and the invaluable experience gained.
This achievement is not just a testament to the unwavering dedication of our riders but also highlights the crucial support we’ve received from the Federation Internationale de Motocyclisme (FIM) and the ACRR team. Their backing has been instrumental in our journey. In the midst of a severe economic crisis in our homeland, the determination and perseverance of our riders shine brighter. They have faced adversity head-on, embodying the spirit of resilience that defines our team.
Looking forward to the future, Shane Gunawardena, the newly elected President of the federation committee, is enthusiastic about their upcoming plans. On September 13, 2023, we will launch another selection process with a specific focus on the upcoming round in Taiwan. This initiative aims to identify and welcome fresh, promising talent into our team, reiterating our unwavering belief in the sport of racing and we resolve to conquer every challenge that comes our way.
As our journey continues, we remain grateful for the support and encouragement we receive from our fans, sponsors, and partners. Together, we are confident that our riders will continue to illuminate the racing world with their talent and unwavering spirit.
