Sajith calls for separate Committee to probe country’s bankruptcy

Opposition Leader Sajith Premadasa says that the Opposition should appoint a separate Committee to look into the reasons related to the country’s bankruptcy.

He said that by appointing the Secretary General of the Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna as the Chairman of the Committee that was appointed to find the reasons for the country’s bankruptcy, it could become a mere talk shop instead of fulfilling its duty.

The Opposition Leader was addressing the Executive Council of the Opposition Parties Coalition yesterday (10). Premadasa said as it is clear that the Select Committee will not fulfil its duty and therefore, the Opposition should form a separate committee to find the true reasons for the country’s bankruptcy.
