Sri Lanka player Anwar Saheed for Indian Pro Kabaddi League
Anwar Saheed Baba has been acquired for Indian rupees 1 million, ( 27.4 lacks Sri Lankan rupees) which is the first time in the history of Sri Lanka.Anwar Saheed the product from President’s College Embilipitiya later
joint for the Sri Lanka Navy and play for Navy team as well as National Kabbadi team .The three more Sri Lankan players Aslam Saja,Lahiru Kuruppu and Asiri Sandaruwan also named for this auction but they couldn’t get value for this auction to enter the franchise team .
The auction for the eighth season of the Pro Kabaddi League (PKL) was held in Mumbai from August 29-31.There are 22 Kabbadi players from Bangladesh,Iran,Korea,Japan , Kenya and Sri Lankan players were at this auction .
The PKL which was not held last year due to the coronavirus pandemic is scheduled to be held in December 2021.
President Anura Pathirana said getting chance for the Pro Kabbadi league in India created history and this is good news for the local players to take part in this sport .
