Tabla music performance to celebrate World Music Day

Pranshu Chatur Lal is the grandson of the great Indian classical music tradition, the Oscar-Nominated and BAFTA Award Winner, the great Tabla Wizard Late Pandit Chatur Lal who was the first internationally acclaimed percussionist to introduce Indian Classical Music in the West back in 1950’s along with Bharat Ratna Pandit Ravi Shankar and Swar Samrat Ustad Ali Akbar Khan.

Carrying further the lineage of the great tradition, Pranshu Chatur Lal has been trained under his father and guru, Pandit Charanjit ChaturLal.

His performances intrigue the audiences of Indian classical music by the versatility of the traditional style merged in his own signature of playing tabla. Some of his work includes percussion solo’s with tabla, western drums, Turkish drum ‘Darbuka’ and Korean drums while accompanying great legends, such as Pandit Hari Prasad Chaurasia, Ustad Amjad Ali Khan, Pandit Birju Maharaj, Grammy Award Winner Pandit Vishwamohan Bhatt, Pandit Rajan and Sajan Mishra, Shri Amaan & Ayaan Ali Bangash, American Saxophonist George Brooks, Korean Drummer Park-Eun-Ha, and Mexican Flautist Horarcio Franco.
