‘Tsunami’ wins International accolades

Dr. Somaratne Dissanayake has been nominated for a special jury award for the direction of ‘Tsunami’ in the Best Asian Feature Film category at the 4th Jharkhand International Film Festival (JIFF).

The film which has been produced by Renuka Balasooriya has already been nominated in several key categories at the 2021 Bayelsa International Festival which will be held from October 20 to 23. It has been nominated for the Best film and film of the year awards at the event which will be held in Yenagoa, Nigeria.

Dr. Dissanayake has been nominated for the best director’s award, Niranjani Shanmugaraja has been nominated for the best actress award, Dharshen Dharmaraj nominated for best actor, Vishwa Balasooriya nominated for best cinematography, Menara Weeratunga has been nominated for the best child actor, Bimal Jayakody best supporting actor and Himali Sayurangi in the people’s choice best actress category.
