Two 16-year-old students, due to sit for the GCE Ordinary Level examination this time, who had told their parents they were going to attend a tuition class and then gone sea bathing had been swept in a current at sea and killed.
The two students studying at Hindu Vidyalaya in Batticaloa were residents of Irudiyapuram and Karuvappankerni.
They had said they were going to attend a tuition class, day before yesterday (6) and left their homes, and while sea bathing off the coast of Kokuvil they had been caught up in a current and been swept away, police said.
The Police media spokesman’s office said that the bodies of the two students were found on the beach yesterday (7).
