158th Police Day with Beach Cleanup

A Beach Cleanup was organised by the Community Police Unit of the Wadduwa Police, jointly with the Beach Conservation Dept., under the directions of Wadduwa Police OIC Chief Inspector Shamendra Sarath Chandra was conducted yesterday, to mark 158th Police Day.

A beach stretch of nearly 1 km, from Ayana Beach Hotel to Molligoda towards Kalutara was cleaned. Plastic bottles, decayed tree parts and glass bottles heaped on the beach were removed, separated and transported in bags to the Dumping Grounds.

Coast Conservation officers, Police officers, Wadduwa PHI Nissanka, and area residents joined this noble task.
