17th March : Warm weather alert issued for 15 districts

The Department of Meteorology has issued an advisory for warm weather in the  Western, Sabaragamuwa, Southern, North-central, North-western provinces and the Monaragala, Mannar, Vavuniya districts. 

Per the advisory, valid for tomorrow (17), caution level alerts have been issued to 15 districts. 

The department states that the Heat index, the temperature felt on the human body, is likely to increase up to ‘Caution level’ at some places in the districts.

The public has been warned that fatigue is possible with prolonged exposure and activity, and that continuing activity could result in heat cramps. (Newswire)
