17th ‘Uva Battle of the Golds’ ends in a draw

Chathum Lakpriya of Bandarawela Central Collage managed to get 10 wickets in the match with 5 wickets hauls in both innings while Bandarawela St. Joseph’s took major honours in their drawn 17th’ Uva battle of the golds 2-day big match played at MRICS, Hambantota recently.

Lakpriya who took 5/43 in the first innings of St. Joseph’s and finished with 5/33in the second innings was good enough to win the Man of the Match award as well.

After being asked to bat first St. Joseph’s College posted 142 for their first innings and restricted Bandarawela Central Collage’s first innings to 91. In second innings St. Joseph’s College posted 99 for five wickets declared but Bandarawela Central Collage were 66 for two wickets at the end of the match. However St Joseph’s College won first innings points.
