Kegalle Returning Officer Ranjana Jayasinghe said that the Kegalle district has made all arrangements for the General Election which will be held today (14).
Voting will be held at 577 polling centres in the district and 709,622 have qualified to vote in this year’s Parliamentary Election.
Eight thousand and four hundred Government officials will be on duty for this year’s election and the number of officers of the security department on duty will be around 2,014, the Returning Officer said. Fourteen political parties and four independent groups are contesting this year’s General Election in the Kegalle district.
