Man flings grenade, calls police to get inmates arrested

The Kuttigala Police has launched an investigation regarding a call received on police emergency 119 that there were bombs in a house where a mother and daughter were running a salon, by the same person who flung a hand grenade into the house, attempting to get the mother and daughter arrested.

A high-ranking police officer said that the 119 police emergency number had received a call that there was a bomb in the house where the mother and daughter were residing in Padalangala in the

Kutitigala police division, on January 19. Accordingly, a special team of police officers had gone to the house and inspected it, but no such bomb had been found there.

Meanwhile, while cleaning the house on Wednesday (1), the mother had noticed something suspicious in a box containing old books in the place where unused old stuff was discarded, and had informed the Kuttigala Police. Accordingly, the police had come and checked

it and confirmed that it was a hand grenade.

Police said that it appears that the person who threw the grenade at this house is the person who had made a phone call to the 119-emergency number on January 16. The police stated that accordingly, investigations are being conducted to identify the person to enable them to take action against him.
