Grandson arrested for robbery, murder in Pitigala

The Pitigala Police have arrested a grandson who killed his grandmother by throwing chilli on her face and tying her hands and robbed her of Rs.4,340.

The police say that the grandson, who is heavily addicted to drugs, threw chilli powder on his grandmother’s face and tied her up and robbed her of money when there was no one at home.

Investigations have revealed that the money was tied in a polythene cover around her waist.

The deceased is a woman named K.G.Kamalavathy (87). She is a resident of Talgaswala. Her 25 year old grandson has been arrested for the murder.
