No anti govt. act committed to embarrass the government – Kollupitiya Police

Sealing of PUCSL Chairman’s office:

Kollupitiya Police yesterday informed the Colombo Fort Magistrate’s Court that no information has been revealed in the documents found in the office of the Chairman Public Utilities Commission of Sri Lanka (PUCSL), Janaka Ratnayake that any anti government act has been committed to embarrass the government.

“After the arrival of PUCSL Chairman in the country, 20 documents and 2 letters have been taken into the police custody from his office to conduct further investigations”, the Police added.

The Kollupitiya Police also stated that they are conducting further investigations into the matter.

On February 16, the office of the Chairman Public Utilities Commission of Sri Lanka (PUCSL), Janaka Ratnayake had been sealed off by the Kollupitiya Police on a court order issued by the Colombo Fort Magistrate Thilina Gamage.

Kollupitiya Police had earlier told the Magistrate that they had received a complaint that a group of people are attempting to destroy or misplace important documents in the office.
