ISMM elects Jayantha Gallehewa as new President

The Institute of Supply and Materials Management (ISMM) held its Annual General Meeting (AGM) on March 25, at the OPA Auditorium, Jayantha Gallehewa was unanimously elected as the 17th President of ISMM.

Gallehewa was a Vice President since 2019 and had also served as Assistant Secretary, General Secretary and Chairman of the Professional Development and Training Committee, Chairman of the 50th Anniversary Management and Marketing Committee, Chairman of the Seminars, Workshops and Functions Committee and many other Committees for several years, having joined as a member of ISMM in 1997.

Gallehewa currently serves the Organization of Professional Associations (OPA) as a Vice President, Chairman Membership Committee and served as Chairman Supply Chain, Logistics and Transport Committee. He has been of service to the OPA for eight consecutive years in various roles. Currently, Gallehewa serves as the Director, Supply Chain of Capital Maharaja Group.

The Institute of Supply and Materials Management established in 1972 is the pioneer in Supply Chain Education in Sri Lanka and was incorporated by an Act of Parliament in 1981.

At present ISMM conducts 16 courses in English and Sinhala in Supply Chain related subjects for the benefit of school leavers as well as those already employed in the relevant fields.

ISMM is a member of the International Federation of Purchasing and Supply Management which is the International Body which encompasses all Supply Chain Institutes worldwide. ISMM is also affiliated to the International Trade Centre in Geneva and their franchise holder in Sri Lanka for conducting ITC’s International Diploma in Supply Chain Management Course in Sri Lanka.
