SL teen to train horses from UAE in N’ Eliya
For the first time in Sri Lanka, a teenage entrepreneur Oneli Palipane, based in Nuwara Eliya is proposing to set up a major FOREX earner to Sri Lanka by opting to train horses in Abu Dhabi in Sri Lanka.
Horse riding and racing are highly passionate hobbies among the elite class and up market tourists in UAE and there is enormous monetary incentive from a single race and horse owners are willing to dedicate immense effort and money toward breeding, buying, and training horses.
“Usually the horses in UAE are sent for training to many parts in the UK at a very high price. Since Nuwara Eliya can also match the climate conditions offered in UK for Horse training, my company, South Asian High Altitude Equine Training Academy (SAHAETA) an equine training and rehabilitation facility in Nuwara Eliya sent a proposal for several UAE based companies to send their horses for training to us. Now we have received a positive response from several companies.’’
“With this encouraging response we now hope to hire professional trainers and make other infrastructure for this venture and to raise capital we contacted Ekva LLC who also responded very positively.”

As her program also seems very attractive Ekva LLC are hopeful of providing her the much needed seed capital for this project via our accelerator programme first round where we are selecting 14 other start-ups for the initial funding round.
Established in 2022 to promote and empower gifted entrepreneurs, Ekva LLC, has also secured capital to the tune of USD 1.5 million from a Canadian source and from other investors and also has several other funding in the pipeline.
