Three-wheeler driver transporting cow for slaughter dies in accident

Udugama Police said that the driver of a three-wheeler who was transporting a cow for slaughter was killed when the three wheeler fell down a preceipe and overturned. The accident has taken place when the three wheeler was plying to Nakiyadeniya in the Udugama Police Division.

The Police said the cow was found unhurt following the accident and it was returned to its original owner.

Investigations revealed that the cow belonging to a brother of the deceased was being taken to be sold for Rs.80,000 for slaughter to two persons in Galle. The Udugama Police is conducting further investigations.
