Probe into theft of wires, transformer parts

The Mahiyanganaya Police have initiated an investigation regarding the theft of over Rs. one million worth of wires and parts from a transformer of the Ceylon Electricity Board that was installed on Padiyathalawa Road, Mahiyanganaya. 

The CID filed a motion before the Court to summon the case and a further report was produced to the court to inform this.

The CID stated that the CCTV footage has been forwarded to the Digital Forensic Laboratory of the CID and that the suspect will be arrested after receiving the report.

The suspect entered the law chambers of the former Attorney General in the early hours of November 11, searched for some files, and went out with a steering wheel cover.
