SJB files CIABOC complaint over US$ 250 Mn bribe claim

The Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB) yesterday filed a complaint at the Commission to Investigate the Allegations of Bribery or Corruption (CIABOC) over the reports of crediting US$ 250 million

to the bank account of a person as a bribe to prevent the Sri Lanka government from securing damages over the X-Press Pearl ship disaster caused off the Colombo Port from its operator.

Former MP Mujibur Rahaman and MP Harshana Rajakaruna made this complaint to the Commission.

Addressing the media after making the complaint to the commission MP Harshana Rajakaruna urged the authorities concerned to investigate these report thoroughly and bring the culprits to book without delay.
