SLPP activist receives death threats

Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP) activist Dr. Sameera Gamage of Maththumagala, Ragama has received death threats from a group of individuals. He had made a complaint in this regard to the Mahabage Police on Thursday.

Dr. Gamage said that a group of individuals came to his residence at Mattumagala and threatened him. Dr. Gamage in his complaint said that a group of individuals stopped his vehicle near his house when he was returning home on the evening of April 15.

He said that he was dragged out of the vehicle and assaulted by these individuals who were wearing masks. Dr. Gamage said that he received similar threats on several occasions in 2022 as well. Mahabage Police said the incident is being investigated.
