Two PCs interdicted for being inside night club with drug dealer

The Mount Lavinia Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) has interdicted two constables working for the Mount Lavinia Division

Crime Investigation Bureau and the Mount Lavinia Police for having consumed alcohol together with a drug dealer at a night club on De Seram Road, Mount Lavinia.

A senior police officer stated that these two officers had been drinking alcohol with a suspect who was arrested with 50 grams of heroin and had been granted bail by the Mount Lavinia Court.

He also said that this drug dealer is a resident of Madapatha in Piliyandala. These two officers had gone to the night club to drink alcohol with him on May 7. The officer said further that while drinking alcohol in the night club, the drug dealer had got into an argument with a woman working in the club, and hit her on the head with a glass.

The night club employee had filed a complaint with the Mount Lavinia Police regarding this attack. According to the complaint, the security camera footage of the night club, had been checked to identify the suspect when the two police officers were observed drinking alcohol with him.

The Mount Lavinia Police said that the two officers have been interdicted in connection with that incident and the suspect involved in the attack has fled and is in hiding.
