Probe Pastor Jerome’s utterances – JVP

Janatha Vimukthi Peramuna National Organizer Bimal Ratnayake stated that there is no racial or any other discrimination in Buddhism,   the reason why Pastor Jerome Fernando made a controversial statement which can cause religious rift should be further investigated. He was speaking at a media briefing in Battaramulla JVP office.

“It appears that various sections have worked to create conflicts between communities at certain times.

There are reports of groups influencing people related to Christianity in the Northern Province. People should be aware of such situations. Creating such rifts may be done with a purpose, sometimes by bankrupt rulers,” he said.

He said that the JVP has a duty to reveal the true facts about such problems to the people and will work to achieve that goal.
