Errant drivers fined, driving licenses suspended for six months

Attanagalla No. 02 Magistrate Manjula Karunaratne on Thursday (25) fined five errant drivers who pleaded guilty of driving under the influence of alcohol Rs.25,000 each and suspended their driving licenses for six months.

The convicted drivers are Shehan Malisha Rajapakse, Kavishka Dilshan, Lakshita Dananjaya, Jeevantha Prema Kumara and Viduranga Dilshan. Police Sergeant Bandara of the Danowita Police’s Case Operations Division handled the complaints.

The drunk drivers were arrested by the Danowita Police’s Traffic Division in a raid.
