Earthquake hits Indonesia, no tsunami threat to Sri Lanka
An Earthquake has occurred in Indonesia today but it has no tsunami threat to Sri Lanka, said the Disaster Management Center.
The earthquake with a magnitude of 7.4 on the richter scale had occurred in Eastern Indonesia. at 0320 GMT.
The quake struck in the Flores Sea at a depth of 18.5 kilometres (11 miles), the US Geological Survey said, detecting the epicentre around 100 kilometres north of the town of Maumere.
