SJB MPs will resign from Bankruptcy PSC

0 10

SJB MP Harshana Rajakaruna said in Parliament yesterday that all SJB MPs will resign from the Parliamentary Select Committee (PSC) appointed to investigate the country’s bankruptcy.

The MP said in a special statement in Parliament that the Speaker will be informed in writing in this regard.

He said that it is very unfair to appoint the Secretary General of the same party that bankrupted the country as the chairman of the Select Committee while the Opposition has requested the chairmanship.

He said the Speaker as an independent person still has the opportunity to correct that mistake.

A large number of Opposition MPs signed a letter and handed over it to the Speaker requesting him to appoint a Select Committee to look into the country’s bankruptcy. After many months, the Speaker appointed a Committee. We clearly stated in the last parliamentary session that we in the opposition should be given the post of Chairman of this Committee. But that opportunity was not given to us.

A bankruptcy committee has been appointed to look into the bankruptcy of the country.

Therefore, all the MPs of SJB have submitted their resignations from the Committee in writing.
