died on the upper part of Great Weston mountain in Talawakelle died yesterday due to a sudden illness that occurred on the upper part of the mountain.
A Corporal was admitted to the Nuwara Eliya General Hospital for treatment after falling ill, but he had already died.
An Army Corporal named Sandun Kumara Herath (37), a resident of Ellumgasaya, Dutuweva, Anuradhapura who has been serving in the Nuwara Eliya Army Camp, has lost his life during the incident.
Police officers with the assistance of the Police Special Task Force officers and Army officers took steps to bring down the body of this young woman, who has fallen near a steep precipice on the top of Great Western Mountain.
Lindula Police said that no one else goes to the top of the mountain except for the purpose of climbing and an investigation has been started to find whether this was the result of a murder.
The Police had taken steps to take these two dead bodies to Nuwara Eliya Base Hospital for postmortem. Lindula Police are conducting further investigations.
