Six member committee to report on drugs, underworld

The Inspector General of Police on the orders of the Public Security Minister Tiran Alles, has appointed a committee under the chairmanship of Western Province Senior DIG Deshabandu Tennakoon, to report to Police Headquarters and the Ministry regarding measures that can be taken to curb drug and underworld activities.

The committee comprises Western Province SDIG Deshabandu Tennakoon, Northern Province SDIG K.P.M. Gunaratne, Southern Province SDIG S.C, Medawatte, STF Commanding Officer DIG Waruna Jayasundara, Criminal Investigation Department DIG S.P. Ranasinghe, Narcotics Bureau DIG and Special Bureau DIG Oshan Hewavitharana and Colombo Crimes Division Director T.C.A. Dhanapala.
