Saudi Arabia to host Int’l Islamic Conference in Makah

Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman has approved holding of an International Islamic Conference in Makah on August 13 and 14.

The conference will be attended by around 150 famous Islamic academics, muftis, religious leaders, and thinkers from 85 countries throughout the world. The two-day event will also feature the heads of Islamic groups and sheikhdoms, as well as scholars from several international universities. In its seven working sessions, the conference will address issues including moderation, extremism, decadence, terrorism, tolerance, and coexistence.

To uphold the norms of moderation and promote the ideals of tolerance and coexistence among peoples, the conference strives to develop the communication and integration links between the departments of religious affairs, iftar, and sheikhdoms around the world.

In addition to serving Islam and Muslims, promoting Islamic unity among Muslims, combating ideas of extremism, and defending societies from atheism and disintegration, it is to emphasize the importance of adhering to the Holy Qur’an and the Prophet’s Sunnah.

The conference will showcase the Kingdom’s distinctive expertise in advancing the glory of God, disseminating the mercy-centred ideas, and maintaining values in the advancement of many social constructs.

The conference is being organized as part of the Saudi’s initiatives to uphold the moderation approach through constructive collaboration with global religious leaders, to help reduce acts of violence and feelings of hatred among the peoples of the globe.
