Ex-CISIR/ITI Employees Association holds AGM

The retired Employees Association of the CISIR and ITI held their Annual General Meeting (AGM), at the ITI Auditorium on August 12, with the participation of over seventy members.

Inaugurating the event chaired by President of the Association, M. Subadra Jayasinghe observed two minutes silence in memory of the departed members including past Chairman Dr R.O.B. Wijesekara , Founder President of the Association Dr. Janaka Rathnasiri, Jayaweera Banadara, Sunil Samaraasinghe and Wasantha Weerasinghe.

The Annual Report was presented by the Secretary Sharmini Wickremartane and it was disclosed that the medical fund organized by the Association has now reached Rs. Two hundred thousand and the Association aims to raise the funds to at least five hundred thousand. The members were also introduced to an Insurance scheme initiated by the Sri Lanka Insurance, especially for the benefit of the Senior Citizens. The fellowship lunch was sponsored by the Silvermill Group of Companies, the Association was very grateful for their kind gesture. The stall set up by the Silvermill Group was well patronized by our members.

Mibarak, Chandra Cooray, Agnes Fernado, Berni Roberts, Sharmini Wickremaratne.
