‘Gamineth Pubuduwa’ CSR reaches rural areas

Arrangements have been made to hold the 10th anniversary event of the Ophthalmic Optometrists Association of Sri Lanka formed by the association of the owners of government registered optometrists islandwide, on August 27 at the Water’s Edge Premises in Battaramulla.

Through the coalition of the members of the association, under the programme ‘Gamineth Pubuduwa’, during the past ten years eye care facilities have been taken to several rural areas and the members of the association have conducted eye tests and checks of the people in those areas and provided the glasses on the same day.

The current President of the Association Saman Dasanayake, said that the work was done with dedication. Under this programme these eye camps have been held in areas such Welikanda in Polonnaruwa, Matale Laggala, Kilinochchi and Tissamaharama.

The 10th anniversary event is to be held under the Chairmanship of Ophthalmologist Kapila Banduthilaka.
