National People’s Power (NPP) Leader Anura Kumara Dissanayake declared that this is a country where there is no protection for women or children, a country where peace is not fulfilled when you go to the police, a country that is made to look at the other person with anger.
“Greed for money emerges above all medicines, law, environment and human relations. We have a responsibility to heal such society,” he said.
He stated this while participating in a conference sponsored by the Jathika Bhikshu Peramuna, on the occasion of Jathika Bhikshu Day, held at the Sri Lanka Foundation Institute yesterday (27).
In addition, Grant Patron of Jathika Bhikshu Peramuna, Ven. Attangane Ratanapala Thera said that groups of monks who endanger the order and the country are being created and people who claim that they are right and others are wrong appear from place to place in society in the guise of monks. The only solution to the prevention of perversion of the Dharma and the disgrace of the Sasana is to create a people’s government.
On this occasion, Maha Sangaratna, along with the Jathika Bhikshu Peramuna Grant Patron Professor Venerable Attangane Ratanapala Thera and the National Bhikshu Peramune’s Chief Secretary Reverend Vakamulle Uditha Thera participated.
