SL Hosting Ministerial Council meeting of IOR Association

This organization, which currently consists of 23 countries, was founded in 1995. The 25th meeting of the senior officials committee of this association is scheduled to be held on the 9 October 2023, and 10 October 2023 and the 23rd Ministerial Council meeting is scheduled to be held on the 11 October 2023 in Colombo. At this Ministerial Council meeting, Sri Lanka will take over the chairmanship of the organization for the period 2023 to 2025, and “Strengthening the Regional Foundation, Empowering the Indian Ocean Identity” will be the theme for this period. These facts presented by the Minister of Foreign Affairs were taken into consideration by the Cabinet.
