CZK Group China to invest USD 200 Mn in Sri Lanka

The CZK Group China has expressed their interest to State Minister of Investment Promotion Dilum Amunugama currently on an official visit to the People’s Republic of China in investing in four projects in Sri Lanka amounting to US$ 200 million.

State Minister Amunugama addressed three main global investors’ summits during this visit.

They were the 23rd China International Fair for Investment Promotion and Trade and the 5th Silk Road Maritime International Cooperation Forum both in Xiamen and later the 2023 Sino-Sri Lanka Investment and Promotion Economic Forum in East China’s Fujian Province.

In all of these forums, the Minister was invited to deliver a speech. “As a country, China is the largest foreign direct investor in Sri Lanka. China has contributed to uplifting the FDI threshold,” the State Minister said during these events.

Parallel to these events the Minister had discussions with the Chinese Communist Party Leader and Governor of Fujian Province Zhao Long. The Governor hosted a dinner for the Minister and the Sri Lankan Delegation where the minister met with the Chairman of Chinese firm CZK.
