A former LTTE member has informed the Security Forces that the skeletons found in a mass grave in Mullativu Kokkuthuduwai belongs to those who were killed in a torture chamber run by the LTTE. After the discovery of three skeletons female LTTE members in the mass grave, the former LTTE member who commented on the matter has stated that a torture chamber of the LTTE organization was located close to the location of the mass grave. He has also stated that a large number of LTTE members who were charged with various wrongdoings were imprisoned in this place.
Also, two tags with numbers worn by LTTE members have been found from the place.
Excavation of this mass grave is still ongoing under the observation of Mullaitivu District Judge Dharmalingam Pradeepan, Archeology Professor Raj Somadeva and Mullaitivu District JMO and other officials.
