Foreigner having cannabis nursery arrested

Habaraduwa Police said that a foreigner who was maintaining a cannabis nursery in a house in Kaduruwala, Wanchawala was arrested along with 591 cannabis plants.

A Russian named Dmitri Larionov (40) was arrested on Septmber 10 in Talpe Habaraduwa.

When a Russian had made a complaint that four other Russians had robbed him of Rs.3.8 million, this suspect had been taken into custody and questioned and then the cannabis plants he had cultivated at his house in Kaduruwala, Wanchawala where he was residing temporarily, had been discovered.

Police said that these cannabis plants were being grown in polythene bags. The suspect is to be produced before the Galle Magistrate.
