Sri Lankan promising athlete Tharushi Karunaratne once again stole the highlight at the 91st Sir John Tarbet Senior Athletic Championship when she established Under 20 girls 400m new meet record as well as National Junior record yesterday at Sugathadasa Stadium, Colombo

Tharushi Karunaratne of Walala A Ratnayake MMV who will be taking part in 800m event at the forthcoming Asian Games in China is in good form while she clocked 52.63 seconds to erase her previous record yesterday and it was great achievement said her coach Susantha Fernando.

Tharushi Karunaratne who run her pet event 800m this time ran at 400m under supervision of her coach Susantha Fernando while

setting up 52.63 sec meet National junior record. Tharushi Karunaratne presently focused on Asian Games after Asian junior championship and her main target is to get medal at Asian Games and this National junior record also big boost to Tharushi Karunaratne before the major event Asian Games.

Meanwhile seven meet records were established on first three days of the Sir John Tarbet senior athletic championship while final day on today ( 16) Ceylon Foods International Pvt Ltd General Manager Marketing Nilupul de Silva will be the Chief Guest.
